I absolutely love Nori. I eat here way too much because Bic, the chef, is simply an amazing artist with food and spice. The service is also simply incredible - I always get served by a young man who remembers my name and what dish I had the last time I visited. I always feel welcomed, and I always leave full and happy. By the way - try the Nori salad. Sometimes when I stop in for dinner, I get a Nori salad to go just to make my co-workers jealous the next day. It is the most complete salad I've ever tasted in my life.

This was my first fine, accompanied by a friend who raves about Nori, and impressed by the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is close to my home, and not so long ago having acquired new ownership, I thought it reasonable to give it a try. Ya know, support a local restaurant, non chain, give them support. Regrettably, their performance was so poor, in both the kitchen and in service, that I cannot provide more than two stars. Sunday night at around 7, four tables outside were occupied, and three inside. The owner takes our order, carefully repeating the level of spiciness, which was a good sign to me. From there on, it was a disaster. Poor execution in kitchen and on the floor. The dumplings took more than 20 minutes to arrive and while very tasty, $8.00 for 4 left me wondering what made a dumpling appetizer so expensive, and why they didn't provide a larger serving, or price it differently, but then again, it is Boca Raton. It took another 40 minutes for three entrees to arrive, and none of the other dishes were cleared from the table, nor the beer or water bottles. The chicken pad Thai was tasty, but the chicken was less than warm. The drunken noodles with shrimp was a huge portion, with a large serving of shrimp and rice noodles, at just the right level if spiciness. They got that dish spot on! (Earning 2 stars) My mixed vegetables with chicken was a disaster. Again, less than warm chicken, admittedly, though, a large chicken serving, BUT the smallest serving of mixed vegetables in a huge bowl/plate. What happened to the vegetables? Did they leave them in the kitchen? Plus, it was floating in sauce, and I had asked for very light sauce, which had been confirmed by the owner when she repeated the order. I concluded that the chicken was cooked first, was sitting around, and the noodles were cooked to order, and with the sole overwhelmed waitress, the food cooled down. The owner was no longer to be found, the sole waitress was visibly overwhelmed, running from outside to inside, making excuses at each table for the long wait, and rushing around bringing food to tables and taking orders for arriving diners. We heard her mumble "I need a stiff drink". Ah, we thought, so do we! The phone kept ringing and we could hear the answering machine message (this place is small and the answering machine was loud) - clearly people were attempting to call in take out orders or inquire about late deliveries. The owner reappeared after a lengthy 45 minute absence, explaining, after I complained about the lack of vegetables in my vegetable entree, the bowl filled with sauce, and the chicken temperature, that she was making deliveries! She comped the vegetable dish, and offered free desserts (we declined, it was 9:30, 2.5 hours of frustration). Normally, she is in the kitchen, my friend explained. Well, not tonight was my response. THOUGHTS: 1) Get a busboy 2) Get a delivery service - if you are the owner, stay where you should be - IN THE RESTAURANT. 3) Portion sizes need to be consistent 4) Hire more servers. This is South Florida in the height of season. You don't need to be a brilliant restaurant operator to assess the high and low seasons to know when you need more than one server! I really don't like negative reviews, and when I read them I always verify that the writer is not an annoyed first time reviewer. I am also suspect of 5 star reviews when the Yelper hasn't submitted any other reviews (hmm, how do I assess their rave remarks? After all, I'm a Brooklyn Boy, and always a bit suspicious of things like that). I'm not such a reviewer. It will be a long time, if ever, that I return here, as there are many other options for Thai food in the area. And, I can only assess performance on my experience, and while this potentially was an off night, it is also fair warning to others who might venture forth based on the generally favorable (objective??) reviews. Good luck.. Hope you are able to pull it all together.

Had a great time tonight at Nori. We ordered a couple if bottles of Saki along with the panang curry and the miso ramen. Both very good but tegu panang curry was missing something. We also ordered The Thom (something) soup which was very good. The best part here is the service. Just fantastic. The owner (woman) came out a few times just to make sure we were happ and the waitress was very friendly. It made all the difference. Really enjoyed our evening. I'll definitely come back. :-)

Love the calamari, masaman & panang curries, spicy basil fried rice, spicy miso ramen and Thai iced coffee. We always order food spicy "hot", and it's always been delicious. Portions of the above are generous except the iced coffee which is mostly ice but still completely worth it.

DELIGHTFUL! Friendly staff and great food. Spicy ramen and panang curry is to die for! I highly recommend this place. :)

The food and service were great. The Japanese curry was delicious, and the spice level was flavorful but not overwhelming.

My husband and I have been to this place a few times. The food is decent but this time around, we waited over 15 min with no one even acknowledging our existence. The restaurant was not busy and there were a few waitresses around. Basic customer service is lacking here. For that reason, we will never come back again. Stay away!

I have to agree 100 % with the review that I see from Michael S. dated 3/7/2014. The exact same experience occured to us last night. Save your $$ and your time and go to Kapow ,Yakitori Sake House, Lemon Grass or the Rebel House!! I bought the groupon for this place and I should have read this review from Michael S. before I bought it!

two couples had lunch at an outdoor table yesterday. we each had a different entree from the lunch special menu which included soup or salad. each entree was delicious as was the soup and salad. The chef adjusted the spices to suit our tastes. the service was excellent, the price was good and the portions generous; we intend to go back.

We stopped in after dancing for a quiet meal on the strip, and were delighted with the tom yum and the panang curry. Then the piece de resistance came out. Our hostess and waitress, Anna, insisted we tried both her homemade deserts that night, a lychee ice cream and a green tea creme brulee. We leave impressed and delighted. We'll be back.

This is a place I want to totally and utterly love because their service is SO good. I've gotten the same waitress when I come in for lunch, and she is the sweetest, most attentive waitress ever. She gets 5 stars, hands down. The food is good - but not great, and sometimes, just meh. I ordered the ramen, which is rare to find around here, and wasn't impressed. But I also got the mixed veggies in a brown garlic sauce which was very tasty, especially with the garlic fried rice. Their miso soup is just meh, but their ginger salad is very good. As with many Asian fusion places that feature a few different types of cuisine, they usually are good with a specific type (eg. Thai, Japanese, Chinese, etc) because all of the cuisines are actually pretty different. I think I have found the dishes here under 'Thai' happen to be their best. They seem to be really good with sauces and the like, not so good with broths. The iced green tea is really good! It's a nice treat.

In a town with hard to find quality food, especially Asian, NORI stands out as a great spot for high quality ramen (spicy miso ramen was great)!

Really disappointed in this one. I have been here a few times and the service was never great, but the food was pretty good. However this last time was inexcusable. We came here at 7 pm on Friday night and the place wasn't busy at all. We were there for 20 mins and a waitress never came by to take our order. This was even after we attempted to flag one down. The restaurant had three waitresses who were going around with no idea what they were doing. The owners of this place really need to pay attention to what their servers are doing.

I come here specifically for the 'gourmet' ramen noodles which are hard to find in south Florida. The kind I usually get is the Spicy Seafood- it comes with squid, large shrimp, scallops, and fish along with veggies like green onion and bok choy. Their spicy miso ramen comes in this amazing, creamy broth and is just to die for. The last time I came here, my friend and I also ordered the fried tofu as an appetizer. These were a little on the dry side and the hot/sour sauce they came with didn't really add much flavor either. This is one reason why I don't give 5 stars for this restaurant. The other reason is because two of the times I ordered the ramen, the noodles were still stuck together.. kind of like when you make ramen at home and don't separate the noodles out enough. The whole bowl itself still tasted amazing because of the other ingredients, but that was just a little odd. Besides that, the service is amazing and I never have a long wait here. Whenever I go its only about half full, but it seems to be a hidden secret with locals since it is such a small place. They have sake and some beers too I believe. If you want a real treat, order the Thai Tea. They make it really good here!

Awesome place!!! Really great authentic thai food! Had a number of dishes here from the shrimp in fish sauce to the squid to the meat skewers! Everything is excellent. The spicy ramen especially is to die for! It takes a while to prepare but once u have it you will want to eat the whole bowl because the broth is super yummy! The staff is super nice and friendly! Can't wait to go back.

I was a little nervous about this restaurant after reading other reviews. 3 people for dinner, ordered the calamari appetizer, nice portion, good presentation, good flavor, nothing really outstanding but nice. Teriyaki beef skewers, 3 piece portion, looked good and the flavor was really good and complicated. red seafood curry, large portion with a good mix of seafood and vegetables, very good dish. asked for the crispy duck to be changed to a green curry instead of red and also no pineapple and lychee added as per the menu. the dish was amazing! 1/2 boneless duck, nice and crispy with an amazing and rich green curry sauce with beautiful vegetables poured over the top. I could not stop eating it. Rich sauce, duck crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, heaven! This item alone is worth the trip. As for the service that many have complained about, I could find no fault in any way. We were greeted promptly and seated. The server approached us quickly. She had a beautiful friendly smile and demeanor. She was knowledgeable and accommodating to special requests, checked back for beverage refills and asked how things were. Not sure if we just hit the perfect night but have to say this is one of the best meals we have had since moving here 9 years ago! That is actually saying a bunch as we are very seasoned and critical diners. I rarely take the time to write these types of reviews but based on last night's experience this place certainly deserves the accolades. Keep up the great work folks!!

Great place. Their food is very authentic!!!! I tried their Spicy Miso Ramen and Vegetable Pad Thai. Both were excellent with huge portion. If you are expecting a quick lunch, rather look for other places because they take some time. Service was great. Very nice sweet lady was checking the tables all the time if everything is fine. I took Japanese friend too and they tried Tonkotsu Ramen, they were very satisfied. Well, JAPANESE said the Japanese food served to them is great. That just proves authenticity. I'd definitely visit here again.

Any place voted #1 Ramen will absolutely get my attention. And since I had just spent a few days in Boca for a work conference, I decided to end my trip w/ a final dinner at NORI. My only concern was the wait time based on previous Yelp reviews which I expressed as soon as we arrived to the restaurant. The staff assured me that this would not be a problem and so I took their word for it and was seated. The restaurant itself had soft glow lighting w/ modern white chairs and cool music playing (everything from Beyonce to alternative hits). Our server Jimmy was very friendly and gave us no shortage of smiles - which we loved. He explained the heat level on the Spicy Miso Ramen and let us know they "Americanized" it to suite most tastes. So we agreed that they wouldn't make it "Thai" hot lol. My husband ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen w/ extra pork belly and I went ahead w/ a mild Spicy Miso Ramen w/ extra egg. I have to say the ramen came out within 15 minutes maybe less and it was presented piping hot and beautifully. Jimmy even brought a side of spicy chili oil in case I wanted to layer on the heat (his idea). We knew after the first sip that this was going to be a taste bud symphony. The charsu pork was the best I've had in my life - super smokey yet so tender and moist. I was so happy I went w/ the extra egg since they par boiled the egg to keep it slightly runny (MY FAVE). The noodles were the perfect texture, smooth and not grainy. The broth was rich and dense and the spice level was perfect. Just enough heat to elevate all of the flavors. I can now say in full agreement that their Spicy Miso Ramen takes the NUMBER ONE spot of all Ramens we've tried in South Florida. My husbands ramen came in at number 3 (close tie to GoBistro's Tonkotsu) and he really enjoyed every last sip. Again we were nothing but impressed with the service, attentiveness, and of course the RAMEN! I would make the trip back up to Boca to eat here in a heartbeat.

Hidden in a typical South Florida Thai and Japanese combination restaurant was a surprising find for good ramen in the area. This is the only other place that I can confirm has decent ramen in south Florida. I have tried several "good" restaurants but all fell very short. Nori did deliver a great broth, good noodles and very well prepared over all dish. Soup extras are avalaible for a price but the portions are healthy. Even my daughter (who is a miso soup connoisseur) said she liked it here very much. LOL. The staff was nice, the service was good and the I should be back for more soon.

So I decided to check out this restaurant when I saw it was nominated as one of the top 10 places for Ramen in Palm Beach and Broward counties in a New Times article!!! I started off with the Jackpot Roll which had Eel, avocado, cream cheese was tempora fried! Super crunchy on the outside and deliciously creamy on the inside which went perfect with the Eel sauce served on the plate! Nicole Danna of New Times was right on about this being one of the best Ramen shops in town! The Spicy Miso Ramen was mind blowing And absolutely life-changing!!! Yes it was that damn good! It was just spicy enough to excite you into grabbing that next spoonful! It came with a deliciously tender pork and just to indulge I added an extra side of pork belly which although was absolutely amazing it wasn't 100% necessary! Just a note next time I'll bring a bib! Staff was super knowledgeable and extremely friendly and gave great recommendations including the Ramen which coincidentally is what I came there for!

There are few things I love in this world as much as cats, but Nori's Tonkotsu ramen is up there. I've been trying so hard to find great ramen down in Florida (think Momofuku ramen style). Most ramen places down in Florida just get everything wrong, the eggs are too cooked or the meat is just bland. At Nori, everything is perfect. Their ramen is incredibly flavorful and authentic tasting. I've heard they've got other stuff on the menu, but I have such a difficult time getting anything besides the ramen when I head here! The ramen is filling flavorful and affordable! Maybe you're wondering if Nori should have really won as New Time's Best Ramen 2015, and the answer is yes.

It's a nice little Japanese/Thai restaurant in a very nice neighborhood with lots of other restaurants surrounding it. We went on a Saturday evening around 7pm and was seated right away as the small restaurant was relatively empty. Three of us, two of us ordered ramen and one ordered a plate of Thai curry....and then we waited....for almost an hour for our food. It was not busy at all, but somehow the ramen took a very long time to prepare. On top of that, we overheard the server told the table next to us that they had ran out of ramen...so the couple left. I found that a bit strange since it was only 7 or 7:30pm. When the food did come, the ramen broth was lukewarm, but the noodles were hot so it made up for it. The thai curry was very bland needed seasoning. Overall it was just an Okay experience. They really need to figure out how to increase the speed of the service.

Baby hot, hot, hot!!!' That's the beauty of Thai cuisine, you can order it hot, hot, hot and yet the other flavors are still prominent. This is a itty bitty Thai restaurant right in downtown Boca Raton near Mizner Park. I absolutely adored the interior of the restaurant with mirrors adorned on all walls with minimalist Asian inspired elegant furnishings. The important details: In my South Florida living, it's been tough finding good quality Thai cuisine. Now for sure, this restaurant is going to fulfill my Thai cravings. Two things I would definitely like to recommend. The chili calamari appetizer is amazing but I wish the portion was a bit bigger but maybe I'm just being greedy! In entrees I definitely recommend the drunken noodles with shrimp. I did not want to share any with the hubs since it was that good. They have a diverse variety of curry entrees to choose from with different kinds of protein you can choose from. I tried the panang curry with shrimp. which was decent but I liked the drunken noodle entree better. They also make phenomenal ramen but I did not try it this time. I would recommend doing reservations, they are busy in the evening time !

This place is great! Got there around 9PM (they close at 10PM). Got seated right away. The decor around the place is very modern and Asian-American fusion tones all over. Service: Awesome! Our server was very attentive, constantly checking on us and refilling waters (I drink a lot!). The whole staff was very warming, giving smiles all around. Food: My family ordered the Lobster Pad Thai, Spicy Miso Ramen, the Tonkotsu Ramen, and 3 pieces of salmon nigiri. Lobster Pad Thai ($28) was OFF THE CHAIN! It was so good! The portion can probably feed 2-3 people, defintely 2. Filled with large chunks of lobster, this pad thai was ordered medium spicy (they have mild, medium, hot, and thai hot). My mother, who has a small threshold for spicy, thought it came out perfectly seasoned! I tried it myself and was blown away on how good it was! Definitely not "authentic" pad thai, but if you're looking for good flavor, order this! Spicy Miso Ramen ($14?) was pretty good. Nice little spice in it with good flavors all around. Not too salty but just seasoned enough. The braised egg was delicious and all the toppings were plentiful. The cha-su (pork) was delightfully light and complimented the ramen very well. Tonkotsu Ramen ($13) was very basic. I felt that the broth is a little lacking in seasoning (I like mine on the salty side). I added a little chili flakes and it livened it up a bit (be careful with the chili, it's spicy!). The toppings again were very good. The egg was cooked and seasoned to perfection and cha-su, again, very good! Salmon Nirigi ($2.25 a piece x 3) was nothing special. Was expecting it to be Japanese style sushi, but it was American style. Didn't taste any rice wine in the rice, but the fish was alright. It was towards the end of the night, so I'm guessing we got the older end. Again, not bad at all, but if you were to order sushi or sashimi, come earlier or try another place if you want Japanese-style. This place is great if you want American stlye sushi/sashimi! Overall, a great first time experience and I can't wait to go back! A little on the pricey side, but considering that it's in Boca Raton right near Mizner Park, not surprised. Worth every dollar!

The food is AMAZING! My husband absolutely loved the spicy miso ramen with extra charsu pork. The pork was tender and delicious! The presentation on their ramen soups are always fantastic and colorful. My jackpot roll was so delicious and came out perfectly timed with his soups. (So many other restaurants miss that timing.). The service was courteous and efficient. We love coming here for lunch and have even brought our 5 yr old for dinner. She loved the chicken teriyaki.

NORI is actually one of the best ramen places you can find in Boca Raton. It's ramen is pretty darn good, everything testes pretty authentic. I took off one start because its pricy. I don't feel the value of the food and price they charge is equal. Aside from that its pretty darn good.

I only have a handful of regular stops and Nori is definitely one of them. I've eaten my way through most of the menu, but we now stick with the Thai Basil Chicken and the Spicy Miso Ramen, the best bowl of ramen I've had in South Florida. Definitely stick with this one, as the other ramen dishes aren't quite on the same level. It's quaint and I can usually walk right in, which is a plus and the servers are attentive and make sure your experience is a pleasant one. They have a few options for beer, wine and sake on the menu, which satisfies, as I'm here for the food.

No complaints! As stated in pervious reviews the spicy ramen is a must try. Huge portion and unlike others our service was great. We had the best server "Morning Sun" is what i believe her name is. She was incredibly sweet and attentive. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you're in the area you wont be disappointed

We were hesitant coming here because we really loved the place that Nori replaced. Tired of the same old thai places around here, we decided to call them one night for takeout. Very satisfied with the packaging and the food was delicious! We have come back several times and thoroughly enjoy it.

They have amazing Drunken Noodles!! One of the best salads with hunger dressing I've ever had! Savory curries with spot on spice! If you ask for medium, it comes medium. Great spot for dinner with friends or a date. Up scale ambience without the price gouge... Well done!

I have been looking forward to see a ramen place in south Florida. My wish finally comes true, but it wasn't as good as I expected. The food was great, but the service (like many of the reviews I see) was so-so. We were the only table in the restaurant and yet, we barely got serviced and the food came out late. The strange thing is we asked for 2 orders of bun and yet there is a 15 mins gap time. I went with 2 of my friends so we ended up waiting for the 2nd order to come and no one could eat. However, the food was fantastic along with the presentation of it. It's just ashamed the poor service open shadowed the awesome food they have.

Being new to the Boca Raton area, my family and I are on a mission to find great Ramen (see Monta in Las Vegas). Based on the pictures and reviews Nori looked like it may compete and it is a short walk from the house so even better. Well they might have great Ramen, but I will never know because we will never go back as the service was just terrible. After waiting 20 minutes and still no drink order, we walked out never to return.

By far the best food I've had in Boca. The red curry is awesome! Just a little tip though: they do not actually deliver. I've called at least 4 times now asking for it because it says they do on this site, and I always get the "we can not deliver right now".

I am always hunting for restaurants that serve authentic Japanese food which is extreamly hard to find in FL. This review is only for spicy miso ramen which I ordered both of my visits. After reading great reveiws here on yelp and the article, ten best ramen in broward and palm beach counties, I went to Nori with my Japanese coworkers (I'm Japanese myself). Most of us ordered spicy miso ramen. Soup was flavouful and authentic. One of my coworkers ordered Tonkotsu and he said soup was bland and weak. I took one star off because the service is very slow. They are not rude or anything but just too slow and I don't blame thoae customers who complain. The second time I went to this restaurant, I went there around 12:50 pm assuming that most of people would be leaving the restaurant around 1 and I will avoid the busiest hour. I saw at least 3 groups that were upset because they had been waiting too long and still not getting their food or running out of their lunch break and had to switch the order to go instead of dining in. When I was done eating I just walked upto the cashier to pay instead of waiting for the bill. They are either understaffed (both in kitchen and waiters) or they are just not efficient in what they are doing.....

I ordered Delivery from Nori Thai a few weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. We got the Red Curry and the Massaman Curry and Thai Iced Tea. Let me just tell you the curries were amazing and the iced teas were great to wash it all down with! We ordered them 4/5 on the heat scale, which was served a little milder than we were hoping, but it made it more easier to enjoy anyway. We had a friend in town for just a few nights about 3 days after we had the delivery curries, so we took him to the restaurant for a sit down meal and had such a wonderful time in addition to the food we already knew to be fantastic. The same young man who delivered to us a few days earlier was our waiter and remembered me from my front door :-) I would highly recommend Nori Thai to any fan of thai foods and ramens and curries, the ambiance is nice for a casual early dinner or a date out on the town. Try it!

I was really hoping for vegetarian Ramen which they don't have. I got Drunken Noodles with Fried Tofu Hot. Really good! I've never had it before a little sweet but the Hot spicy makes it really yummy. I eased dropped on this woman's conversation about Nori when I was at work one day. So glad I got to try it out for lunch!

I'm feeling nice today so i gave them a 4 star just because the place has potential. we had the fried gyoza for an app which was very good, very flavorful but it was a small portion for the price. i had the Spicy Ramen (medium level of spicyness) for my entree because i saw that they use a "tonkotsu" broth which got me excited, unfortunately they put too many spices in the soup which completely masked the flavor of it. i'll give this place another try in hopes that their other entrees are executed better next time

This place is so good! I came here for the first time about 4 months ago and the food is absolutely amazing! The food is very rich in flavor and very very fresh. I come here every time when I can it is so very good. The service is amazing and very pretty girls work when I go on Friday nights! One of them recommended the duck curry and I tried it. It was so AMAZING! It is slow at times to get the food but it is much worth waiting for! They are always happy and always smiling when I come in to eat! I love Nori!

Service 5 stars! Food 3 stars based on Chef special Salmon. Salmon was too cook and dry...The sauce is too sweet.. This place is cozy cute thai place.. But i wouldn't come back...I've tried a lot of thai restaurants in south florida and There's bunch of nice well thai restaurants... This place is not that special to me.. I recommend If you live near by.. just want quick thai food!

Spicy Miso Ramen was amazing! Service was much, much better than the last time we came 6 months ago. It wasn't really busy tonight for a Saturday which I'm sure helped. The hostess was always smiling and wanted to be sure you were happy with everything. We will be back for sure!

Wow! My new favorite spot to dine....awesome blend of Thai and Japanese cuisine. Best udon noodles I've had in Florida! Very hip, modern, vibe to the place...reasonable prices, good drinks, and great service. I'm definitely coming back to NORI soon!
